Feature Request : Restoring VM Guest OS Files

Post by albert@iwv.cloud »

Hello All

As per https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/van/u ... tml?ver=10
For none windows guest os file restore we need to additional attached vmware or HyperV host to the VBR, would it be nice to have a virtual appliance direct created to the Nutanix host to achieve the above? or something which does not incure extra setup or resource to achieve would be appreciated.

Its quiet troublesome to have another vmware/hyperV host in customer side just for such restoring purpose.

In the meantime given the current limitation you could always add the Hyper-V role to an existing Windows VM within the AHV environment and use that to perform Multi-OS FLR. In this scenario the helper appliance would be deployed to the nested Hyper-V environment. Here's an article on enabling nested virtualization within AHV.
