Dropped transactions with SQL Backups of high IO databases

Post by GabesVirtualWorld »

Hi,
A customer of mine asked if I'm aware of issues with VEEAM taking SQL Backups of high IO database and dropping transactions when backing up and even causing corrupt databases. On the forum I can't find anything though. Can anyone recall any issues on this? Or maybe confirm they are backing-up high IO databases without issues.

Specific guidelines for us to follow when taking those backups?

Regards
Gabrie

Hello,
could you ask the customer to open a support case for further investigations and please share the case number here?

When I was in the field I had several customers with high load SQL databases. The bigger ones I know are more than 100TB databases, so this is not a general issue.

Best regards,
Hannes

Well, we've been asked to do it and they were worried about it.

hmm yes, I also had some customers that did not want to contact vendor support directly (not specifically to Veeam).

Usually the partner then handled that. Or they really gave it a try.
