File Copy - copying selected files?

Post by colintyrrell »

Hi,
I need to do backups of files contained in a large folder.
The folder contains about 60GB of data; files; folders, Databases etc.

But I only need to do a monthly backup of about 10 files contained within this folder; totaling about 2GB.
Can I not just select files contained within the large folder using Veeam File copy? Or is there an alternative method?
Thank you.

Useless info as to my reasoning - not necessary to read:
Time is of the essence.
I do daily & monthly backups of the entire server..but the above 10 files need to be backed up within about 15 minutes; that's my window of opportunity (i.e at 5pm on the last day of the month, prior to us doing our month end) before we do a statement & balancing run

Hello Colin,

Veeam file copy jobs are folder only. If I were you I would use a simple copy command in a BAT file and schedule it via Windows Scheduler.

Thanks.

Thank you Vitaly,
I can do it via NT Backup anyway, but it skips some of the fiels if they're open; it's a 2003 Server.

I was also just looking at using Veeam File Copy only to discover that it is NOT a file copy, it is a folder copy. Perhaps it should be renamed to Veeam Folder Copy.

Hmm, I think it will be better to make it copy files instead ;)
