SOBR Capacity Tier for local Storage
Good Day
Are there any plans to support local Storage for SOBR Capacity Tier? The idea is to configure a local Performance Tier to Create the first backups. Then Create a local Capacity Tier (for example on a NAS with slower but bigger disks) and use this for longer retention. I know i could configure the NAS as a normal Backup Repo, and then use copy jobs, but SOBR with capacity tier would be more convenient.
Thanks
André

Re: SOBR Capacity Tier for local Storage
You can use the same aproach with a local object storage, but capacity tier today do not support standard disks/shares.
But what you can do for example is to create a SOBR with 2 extends. 1 fast extends marked for Incrementals and one slower extend marked for the full files.
In the end you will have fast backup and cost effectiveness. https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... l?ver=95u4

Thanks for your reply Andreas.
SOBR with 2 extends is not really a solution, but i understand the difference. maybe capacity tier on shared/local disk is a feature veeam could do in a future release...

Re: SOBR Capacity Tier for local Storage
You can imagine that this is not the first time we have discussed this idea, even at initial design of it. So we agree.

Here's the existing topic, so I am locking this one down as a duplicate discussion.
