Enlarge File Filters window

Post by nanii-60 »

Hello,

I have 2 questions about File level backup :
1) Is it possible to enlarge the File Filters window ? When I put a path into "Exclude masks", i can't see the entire path...

2) When i backup this job and i try to restore, why can i see folders who are exclude ? (Even if there is nothing of backup...)

Presumably the answer to point 2 is that the index is taken regardless of exclusions. It gets the list of files and folders, then applies the exclusion.

Point 1 could be a bit annoying to work with. I've got this problem with the later start menu in Windows. You open an application group on the start menu and it will show you 5 programs all with the same icon and the same first three words.

Hello Fabien,

Thank you for your post!

It makes total sense and moreover it's already planned.
When i backup this job and i try to restore, why can i see folders who are exclude ? (Even if there is nothing of backup...)
VSS exclusions can exclude the content but not the path. If that's critical - you can use File level backup mode and specify only desired folders as a source for backup job.

In a new version ?

No it's not critical, it would be visually more logic of don't see my exclude folders :)

Fabien,

We are discussing the possibility to include the UI fix in the upcoming Update.
