Migrating VMs from Cloud ESXi host to a brand new on-premise ESXi

Hi all,

looking for some advise, we are planning to migrate a DC and TS servers from ESXi host hosted on data center vmcloud platform to a newly built on-premise ESXi host.

There is a site to site VPN tunnel and downtime would not be a huge problem as this could be done after hours or over the weekend. We currently don't have any Veeam

licenses and I was wondering if this could still be done using Veeam free backup?

Do you have access to source and target ESXi hosts ?
If yes you could use Veeam Quick Migration for your migration.

How many VMs are you planning to migrate?

Replication job will migrate VMs more reliably, so, depending on number of VMs you can:

- either use Veeam Backup and Replication Community Edition (<= 10 VMs)
- or request Evaluation License for Veeam Backup and Replication (> 10 VMs)
