SCSI bus abort counter

Post by stevehughes »

Hi,

from time to time VeeamOne will log something like this:

Alarm - VM disk SCSI connection failures for <VM Name> has been changed to Error

"Datastore Command Aborts" (8.0 Number) is above a defined threshold (6.0 Number) for '<VM Name>';

I'm trying to understand the meaning of the number returned here. Is it a counter that increments whenever a reset occurred (in which case it's guaranteed to hit the VeeamOne trigger at some stage) or does it represent the number of resets in a particular time interval? What event(s) reset the counter back to zero?

I cant find this info anywhere. Anybody know?

Steve

Hi Steve,
The alarm is based on Datastore Command Aborts counter which represents number of SCSI bus reset commands issued during the collection interval.
If number of resets becomes lower than the warning threshold (=2 by default), the alarm should switch back to healthy state.
Thanks!
