Veeam 5.01 File Level Recovery NTFS permssions?

When performing a FLR restore we are losing the file permissions on those files.

Any thoughts?

Use Robocopy, or pretty much any other tool that preserves NTFS permissions on copy.

For bulk restores, tools like RichCopy might work. Older versions had bugs that didn't copy NTFS permissions correctly, but I believe that's been fixed in newer versions. RichCopy is great for bulk restores because it is multithreaded and thus can provide some truly good performance.

But what about Veeam preserving the File permissions when I recover guest files (Restore Guest Files)? It is not working.

That's what I was referring to. Veeam's "Backup Browser" GUI just uses a "normal" file copy, which doesn't preserve NTFS permissions, however, behind the scenes Veeam is just mounting your Windows volume to the Veeam host, so you don't have to use Veeam's simple browser tool, you can use any Windows tool you want to copy files.

While you have Veeam's "Backup Browser" GUI up, just minimize it and open an Explorer windows and you'll see the volumes from your restore hosts right there, with drive letters assigned and everything. Just use any Windows command line or GUI tool that can preserve permissions and your set.

Hopefully in the future Veeam will enhance their "Backup Browser" to support restoring with NTFS file permissions, but for now, using a native Windows tool is a pretty easy workaround (it's no different than if you were copying files between servers).
