The necessity of secondary storage addition

Post by Tos »

Hi

Our customer have question.

If we use NetApp SnapMirror/Vault or Nimble Replicated Copy in backup job, do we need to add secondary NetApp or Nimble storage to Veeam Infrastructure ?

As far as we comfirmed in our lab, it was necessary to add secondary storage forstorage replication .

Since the necessity of secondary storage addition to Veeam Infrastructure was not clearly described in the following document, We want to know detailed specifications.

Yes, you need to have a secondary NetApp or Nimble storage array for this functionality.

It would not be technically correct to call secondary array a Veeam requirement though, because it is rather NetApp requirement (to use the SnapMirror/SnapVault features) and Nimble requirement (to use the Replicated Copy feature).

Veeam simply attaches to the existing storage replication relationships.

Thanks!
