GFS & Daily tape backup

Hi

Is it possible to use a GFS pool that will also run daily backups to tape? I can only see options for weekly, monthly and annual in the pool configuration. I am looking to take a daily and then weekly that will be retained for 8 weeks and Full that will be retained for a longer period that is yet to be determined.

Currently I am using a standard pool with daily and weekly full retained for 8 weeks

Looking at the options I think I would select the GFS pool for the Full backups and a simple pool for incremental jobs

Anyone doing this? Anything to be aware of?

Are you on Update 4 already? I'm wondering because in Update 4 we've added daily media set to tape GFS media pool. Thanks!

Not upgraded to Update 4 yet but that feature sounds interesting.

Then, it's a perfect time to do so - with Update 4 you can now archive daily backups to GFS pool. Thanks!
