VAW 3.0.0.748; VBR console 9.5U4
After logging into a physical server, noticed that the daily back had not completed successfully. The server could not connect to the VBR.
Performed following steps:
1.) Checked license, seemed ok.
2.) Restarted VAW service then tried to initiate a backup --> failure.
3.) On VBR console, revoked affected server's license then added back in.
4.) Tried to initiate a backup --> failure.
5.) Checked backup settings, received following error message:
Connection Problems.
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:10001
6.) Ran netstat -abon | findstr ":10001" on VBR console, no results. The VBR console was no longer listening to port 10001.
7.) Did not want to reboot VBR server. Checked for running jobs --> none.
8.) Opened Services plug-in. Stopped and then restarted following services, in order: Veeam Broker Service, Veeam Backup Service.
9.) Tried to initiate backup on affected server --> success.
10.) Initiated backups on five other affected physical servers --> success.
The physical servers are not managed by the VBR.
Not sure what happened but I was able to fix it.
In case any one finds this useful.
