no longer using WAN accelerator, okay to remove VeeamWAN folder??

Post by tommls »

We don't use WAN accelerators anywhere anymore.
They are removed from the two Veeam servers that had them and the WAN accelerator service is disabled on both servers.
Is it okay to remove the contents of D:\VeeamWAN, containing the WAN accelerator files??
The newest file folder and contents are a year old.
Just want to make sure I don't mess things up. :)

Hello Tom, yes, you are free to remove them if accelerators are not used anymore.

Hi there,

need to ask regarding uninstall/delete the WAN accelerator:
Uninstalled through the manamenet console without error. Nevertheless the service is still remaining on the server and accessing the folder, so i cant delete it. After stopping the service i can delete, but folder is coming up (service starts automatically).
Can disable the service, but would like to know what was going wrong. Bug in uninstalling the service?

Hello,

Please try uninstalling Veeam components manually from WAN server using "Add/Remove Programs" and let us know if it will have solved the issue.

Thanks

Hi wishr,

worked using "Add/Remove Programs" (respectively using command-line cause its a server core).
Thanks for the hint!
