[MERGED]Protection Group & IPV6
Hello !
I'm trying to deploy VAW from a protection group using the IPV6 guest IP & it keep on failing telling me "invalid host name".
I tried to add an entry in the local Veeam B&R hosts, so now i can add a "valid name".. but when it starts deploying the VeeamAgent onto the guest, i have this error :
Unable to install backup agent: cannot connect to xxxxx Error: Host 'xxxxx' is unreachable: No IPv4 addresses visible.
Is there any way to bypass this or is it just impossible to use Protection Group with IPV6 on 9.5u4 release ?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Fabien,
Unfortunately agents communicate over IPv4 and do not support IPv6. There is no workaround to force agents to use IPv6 now. Thanks!

[MERGED] IPv6 support
Kirill,
No update for v10 and upcoming v11 unfortunately. Can you please clarify you IPv6 setup? Are you going to use it for entire backup infrastructure and all backup components (i.e. proxies, repositories, backup agents) or the main issue is with the cliens that are connected to IPv6 network only? Thanks!

Re: IPv6 support
sure. The main issue is Direct Access clients. unfortunately VAW is still weaker than Symantec DLO in case of end user backup solution (meanwhile even 2010 DLO supports IPv6 =)) for field-roaming laptops and workstations.
