Veeam SQL Transaction Log Shipping Issue

Post by sixth »

Hello All...

I just wanted to post a quick question to make sure my understanding of this Veeam feature is correct. We regards to Application Image Processing, is there a way/option to NOT truncate the log files of a SQL server during the Veeam backup process? The automatic truncation of log files is interfering with my transaction log file shipping. Is there anything veeam would recommend so this does not happen?

Thank you!

Sure. In the Guest Processing page of setting up a backup job click the Advanced button->select your SQL server->Edit->and tick the 'Do not truncate logs' radio option.

I've enabled this setting to stop truncates and my databases are still being truncated.

I'm using Veeam Backup & Replication 5.0.2.230 (32bit).

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

This is the first time I hear this option doesn't work, I suggest contacting our support team for further investigation.

I am guessing something else also backups SQL and truncates the logs.
