V3 Mailbox Protection Report shows backed up mailboxes as "Unprotected"

Post by STO-Brian »

Just an FYI, I ran the report right after a new full backup of the mailboxes and the report shows the mailboxes as unprotected, but the color is green.

Hi Brian, it sometimes takes a while before the report is reflecting the correct situation. If it still states they are unprotected, please open up a support case for insight on what might be causing this. Could you also let us know the support case ID for future references?

Hi Brian,

First, Niels is absolutely right - it can take about 1 hour to sync the data after a backup job run.

Second, thank you very much for bringing this issue to our attention. Green color for unprotected mailboxes is a bug, and our dev team is already working on a fix.

Greetings, I too am having this issue with a licensed Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 deployment. The full backup of 33 mailboxes completed two days ago. I did not run a report at that time, so I have no idea what the outcome would have been. However, today I just upgraded from 2.0 to 3.0. I also ran a test restore with success. However the report shows the same issue above where verified backed up mailboxes are listed as "unprotected." Would an upgrade cause same sync issue where we have to give it a few hours and then run the report? If an upgrade would not trigger this symptom, then I guess we should open a support case?

Hi James,

To fix this, you need to run your back job again after the upgrade to v3.

Reports are based on the historical data which is not available in older VBO versions, and hence they can only include the historical data since the date of version 3.0 installation/upgrade (we have this information in the v3 Release Notes).

An incremental will do? I would hate to have to run a full backup over again.

An incremental will do, certainly not the full again :-)

Please note that it can take some time to make the data visible (see also above)
