Community Edition Linux Agent?

Post by paintballer4lfe »

I'm very new to Veeam let alone using the system Veeam has. I have the community free edition however i don't see a linux agent download anywhere. Is it safe to assume linux agent is only for paid version of Veeam? I was told free edition allowed linux server backups but apparently that is wrong?

Hi Nate,
If you download VAL and just install it, it will operate in free mode (https://www.veeam.com/linux-cloud-serve ... agent.html).

Community Edition of VBR includes Agent for Linux so you can centrally deploy and manage it as long as you have available counters (Community Editions comes with 10 free instances). If you want to install VAL as standalone product, then please follow this link.

Thanks!
