Waiting for resources #03515387

Post by Helferlein »

Hi Veeam Members.

Since friday I have one backup job which just waits for backup infrastructure resources availability.
I'm running Hyper-V OnHost Backups. The job did run everytime great until last friday.
Now its waiting and waiting and never starts and even blocks the repository resources so that all other jobs get stuck as well.

Today I have restartet the Veeam Backupserver and restartet the Veeam Services on the HyperV Hosts without any luck.
Other jobs on the same cluster are running fine.

Are there some advises before I open a ticket?

Regards
Peter

Hi Peter,

It's worth contacting the support and share the case ID here for reference.
In the most cases, it's impossible to troubleshoot through the forum.

Thanks!

Peter, DGrinev is correct.

The only thing you could check is why there are no resources available. This normally means something else is running and using the threads on (for example) the repository. Check if there is another task or job running

Yesterday I just cloned those two stuck jobs and mapped the cloned job to the original backup files and voilà: They are working again!
After this worked and when the job was finished I just cloned the jobs back to the original names because I do not like the _clone in the jobs name....

Support was glad I was able to solve it myself ;-) Thanks for your help anyway!

Hey Peter,

Thanks for letting us know. Good that the problem is solved. I am not sure if you said the case could be closed because it still would be nice to figure out why the job got stuck, but happy that everything is good again
Cheers

Hi Mike.
Yeah I told support that they could close the case... but you are right that it would be interesting why this happened.
