Storage Best Practice

Post by acliff »

Are there any best practices for setting up storage to be used by VEEAM Backup for Office 365 backup repository?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew and welcome to the Community!

First, I'd suggest you check out the recommendations provided in this Best Practices guide.

In general, setting up a repository on either a local directory or a DAS storage may provide better performance than SMB3/SAN (here you can see the full list of the supported repository types). For large O365 organizations, it's also a good practice to create different repositories for storing SharePoint and Exchange data.

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

We didn't test such scenarios specifically, but I assume that when used on a machine running a VBO proxy (with repository databases) it may increase the overall performance.
