Agent for Windows "free" licensing confusion

Post by smoore33 »

I've "only" spent a few hours trying to understand the new licensing model. So I'm frustrated but decided to try to upgrade at least a "free" ("community"?) Endpoint Protection/Agent for Windows installation from 2 to 3. Do I need a ("new"?) free license to maintain the full functionality I had with version 2? How do I get it?

(I don't dare dig into the quagmire of how/whether to update our B&R installations to the new licensing model).

If you don’t install a license VAW will work in free mode. There is no “free” license so you should be good with just running the installer and upgrade.

VBR 9.5 U4 introduced the new licensing model and u can get the updated license via support if something goes wrong.
