Mergiong backup copy jobs

Post by marius roma »

Due to space issues on the NAS units ussed to store backup copy jobs I see several backup copy jobs of the same backup job on different repositories.
Imagine a backup job with 7 recovery points, one for each week days.
Imagine 3 backup copy jobs as follows:

Backup copy job on NAS1:
  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
Backup copy job on NAS2:
  • Friday
Backup copy job on NAS3:
  • Saturday
  • Sunday

Is there a way to merge all the backup copy jobs in a single backup copy job by creating a new backup copy job or by editing an existing backyp copy job?
Regard

Hello,
unfortunately that's not possible. But let me ask the other way round: what are you trying to achieve? You say that you don't have enough space. What is the destination storage of your migration?

If you want to save space, then I suggest the following: create separate backup copy jobs for different VMs. If you copy the same data to different NAS systems, you are multiplying the space usage by the number of NAS systems (in your case 3x)

Best regards,
Hannes

Many thanks for your answer.
The problem is the result of some (wrong) emergency decisions.
I will wait for the current job to have the right number of restore point in order to delete all the other files.
