Hi Guys.
We run into a situation every weekend where backup copies run. Veeam is on a separate server and merges copies on a NAS (it's a powerful nas, but linux based Synology). It ends up impacting the IO, so the rest of the backup jobs over the weekend crawl.
Is there anyway I can remove some pressure off this? It would be nice to link backup copy jobs like backup jobs, or schedule them on specific days...
Open to suggestions?

Re: Backup copies smashing NAS
Hello,
there are two ways:
1) use block protocol instead of SMB. Combine that with ReFS block cloning
2) use "active full" backup copy jobs (Read the entire restore point from source backup instead of synthesizing it from increments) - see user guide
Best regards,
Hannes
