move data from a faulty tape

Post by staun »

I suspect a faulty tape and looking up error codes I got from my IBM TS3310 lib. I am recommended to move the data from the faulty tapes. But I am not quite sure how to do this in Veeam. Any hints?

My backup failed with this error:
07-05-2019 02:43:08 :: Error: Tape fatal error.
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
Tape write error
Exception from server: Reconnectable protocol device was closed.

Hello,
just try to restore and see whether it works? If not, the data is lost.

Best regards,

For the best assistance, I would suggest contacting support as they may be able to still recover data and help you.
