Disks and volumes discovery failed Error: Disk not found

I am running a vcenter rescan, to allow a new replication job to pull the VM data from the source VM/datastore. however, when I run a rescan the volume discovery fails with

0/05/2019 11:17:15 Error [lab-vc1] Disks and volumes discovery failed Error: Disk '8ea010ac-b161-4eb6-9483-704714212138' not found.

I've looked through all the source vcenter datastores, and the ID isn't valid or present.

Which log file and/or VBR DB table would provide more details?

Any other suggestions?
