Automate Publishing of DB's daily

Post by stephenspann27 »

This is a new feature request. Can we have a database publish option in the job setup? So that, after a back up runs, the DB is published to a target server of our choosing?

You mean to automatically restore recently backed up database to the server of your choice? If so, you can do that via PowerShell. Thanks!

Not a restore, just publish it, the new feature that was added in update 4.

You should be able to do that with PowerShell as well.

Thanks Joe. If I did it using powershell, would the publishing be independent of my console session? That has been a limitation for us so far when using the publishing feature. If a console timeout occurs, or the Veeam server rebooted the DB goes offline. The other issue I've seen is that it drops offline periodically and reconnects. I thought maybe it was disconnecting during backups, but the times don't quite line up.

The publishing session ends in case the mount server goes offline or ends the session otherwise (connection drop, timeout, etc.). This applies to sessions triggered via PS as well.
