[RESOLVED] Application Aware Backup Failing on Server 2016/2019 VM's

Hallo!
I have a Problem with my Veeam 9.5 Community Edition.
Some weeks ago the Problems started. Application Aware Backup was not successful anymore for all Server 2016 and 2019 VM’s.
The Backup also needs about 7 hours to complete. Before the Problems it only was 0,5h.
I tried to solve the issue and in the Logs i saw, that the Backup for every 2016/2019 Machine gets stuck for exactly two hours.
The Log File says:

It seems like Veeam is waiting for a timeout here.
I tried to disable all Firewalls, reboot all Servers (Backup Server, Hyper-V host and VM’s) and after ther Hyper-V hast Restart it worked again for 3 days. Now i have the same Problem again.

The Veeam Job says:

Hyper-V Host and Backup Server are Server 2019, the VM’s are Server 2008 R2, 2012R2,2016 and 2019. The Problem only exists on 2016 and 2016 VM’s.

Does anyone know how to solve the Problem? I spent hours for Searching logfiles on The Host, the VM’s and Veeam.

Hi Ffo,

Have you tried inspecting VSS Windows Event logs on the guest machine and try rebooting it? Most likely it will shed some light on the situation, the error is VSS-related.

Yes, i tried it with a brand-new installed Windows Server 2019 VM.
I also Created a new Job for only this VM with Application Aware enabled and the sama Problem occured.

I think, i found an other Post with the same Problem here:

In this Post you can see the same delay 01:00:00

Unfortunately, we cannot comment on whether your issue has the same nature as the one in the topic you mentioned without performing an additional investigation that is done on the technical support end.

Hi!
I just want to say, that my problem is solved. I obtained a fix from Veeam Support - the same like in the Thread i mentioned above.
Now everythink works fine - thanks for help.
