NetApp ONTAP Snapshot Orchestration - Storage Snapshot Only Job

Just need a small clarification on storage snapshot only jobs with NetApp FAS array's.

My current understanding of this process is that the only time a snapshot only job will create a VMware snapshot is if VMware tools quiescence or application aware processing is enabled in the job, otherwise it will create a storage snapshot on the primary array only unlike backup from storage snapshots. Does this sounds right? I seem to be unable to find much more information than this and I can't seem to see any VMware snapshots getting created when I run the job.

you are correct.

A Veeam Snapshot Only job is similar to creating a snapshot in ONTAP.

A VM snapshot won't be created during the Snapshot only process. All applications will be crash consistent and no VMware snapshot of that VM will be if the option to use VMware tools quiescence and Veeam Application Aware Processing is turned off.
