GFS Backup Storage

Post by j45p3r »

We are starting to run out of space on our backup repository. Is it possible to move the GFS backup files to say an external hard drive so those files will be offline and stored in our vault? i.e. I can have a disk for each month of the year and copy the GFS files for that month off to the external drive and remove them from our primary storage? Is there a better (low budget) option for this?

Thank you,
Jason

Hi Jason, yes, this is possible. The only downside would be the fact that you will have to do this manually.

You might also think about offloading your old GFS backups to S3 (compatible) storage when your license permits SOBR. This also should be quite low budget and works automatically.
Kind regards, Stefan

Thank you, StefanZ. That actually sounds like a really great option.
