WAN accelerator with both source and target roles

Post by Yuya »

Hello,

Is it possible to combine Source WAN Accelerator and Target WAN Accelerator on one server?

We have A Lab and B Lab.
We want to backup copy the backup data of A Lab to B Lab, and backup copy the backup data of B Lab to A Lab.

We will prepare one WAN accelerator for each lab.
When we copy from A Lab to B Lab, use A Lab's WAN accelerator as the source and B Lab's WAN accelerator as the target.
When we copy from B Lab to A Lab, use B Lab's WAN accelerator as the source, and A Lab's WAN accelerator as the target.

Are there any precautions?

Regards,
Yuya

Hello,
yes you can do that. Nothing special to take care of.

Just keep in mind that they cannot work in both directions in parallel, tasks will queue.

Thank you for your answer.
If we don't use WAN acceleration, can they work in parallel in both directions?

Hello,
yes, the "direct mode" Backup Copy Job can do parallel processing. I recommend to test which mode is faster, if you are not sure what to do.

Best regards,
Hannes
