Unable to install trial license

We're moving our VMs to a new standalone host, and I've received a trial license to cover the extra sockets during the move.
I'm unable to install the license though. When I go to the license window, click install license, choose license and click Open, nothing happens, our old license is still displayed.
Is there a trick to this?

I just needed to upgrade to the newest version, then the trial license worked.
