I'm using external SSD drives as an extra layer of protection to my onsite backup repository. My daily VM backups for my single VMware host go to a ReFS volume and then I perform a copy job to the external SSD drives, which are setup as rotated media repositories in Veeam B&R. I have 3 identical external SSD drives and they rotate daily (1, 2, 3) before starting the cycle over again at drive 1.
My question is if it's ok to use rotated media with Veeam Backup Copy Jobs or does the chain get confused from the local ReFS backups that are the data source for the copy jobs? My environment is very small with only 3 active VMs currently with likely only going to 5 VMs within 12 months.
Thanks for any input.

Re: Backup Copy Job and Rotated Media Repository
Hello,
as long as you don't configure GFS for your backup copy job, I see no issues. GFS is the only limitation as far as I understood your post (see helpcenter.)
Best regards,
Hannes
