Hi Guys,
I have a couple of queries regarding the Community Edition and a current environment that i'm looking to use it on, hoping someone can advise.
Environment
I have a Dell PowerEdge T140, with Hyper-V Core installed. There is a single VM which is a Microsoft Server 2019 Essential DC. I don't currently have the resources to host another VM on this server.
- Can I install the Community Edition on the VM and backup the entire VM to a share NAS on the LAN?
- If the VM goes down I would obviously not have access to the Community Edition to recover the backups ive taken. If this is the case what would be the best recovery method to recover the entire VM?
I don't currently have the host Core backing up, but its very simple and I could probably reinstall and set this up quickly
What appreciate your thoughts on, what would be the best setup for swoft recovery in this scenario
Kind regards
Trevor

Re: Query about restoring entire VM with Veeam Backup & Replication Community Edition
Hello,
1) get a physical machine and install VBR there.
2) use the agent for windows and do a bare metal restore
Best regards,
Hannes
strictly not recommended. I will create a feature request that prevents thatCan I install the Community Edition on the VM and backup the entire VM to a share NAS on the LAN?
I see two options:If this is the case what would be the best recovery method to recover the entire VM?
1) get a physical machine and install VBR there.
2) use the agent for windows and do a bare metal restore
Best regards,
Hannes
