backup to tape (send job to particular tape)

Hi,
I have some 4TB of data to send to a particular new tape...
need a guidance.

I didn't open the console (latest version with patch installed) yet...

I need to dedicate a new tape for this backup with the option to add files to it...

I think that I can identify the tape, create new media pool, create a new job with file selection, and to send the job to the media pool.
I will do it manually.
Also, I have the data on external hard drive, so I want to copy it to VEEAM s server and in the job will provide local d: path.
I guess it is doable?

Is the idea correct?
If not difficult pls provide detailed instructions.

Just to clarify:

- there are individual files located locally and on external hard drive
- you want to instruct backup server to these files to a particular tape
- it's one-time operation

Exactly that:

Files are in the folder on D: drive of VEEAM app server (I copied theme from external HD).

Now, I want to accomplish:

file backup on tape. the tape must be dedicated for this job only.

I would need to add to this tape. Will add 4 GB by 1 GB at a time. (This GIG contains 0,5 of million files).

- Create a media pool
- Add only one tape to it
- Set "Do not create, always continue using current media set" option
- Set "Do not protect data (cyclically overwrite tapes as required)" (you can play with different options, but I think this's the one that suites your needs best)
- Create a file to tape job
- Set given folder as it source
- Point the job to the media pool
