Hi,
we've recently installed two new ESXi servers (previous ones were ESX). Since this change Veeam replication fails. The logs in the ESXi hosts show the message below:
tar: lib: not found in archive
ash: perl: not found
Any idea? Is there any difference using replication when you have ESXi instead of ESX hosts?
Thanks in advance,
Best regards
Francisco

Re: ESXi 4.1u1 and perl not found
Hi, you need to recreate your replication jobs. Engine has to use different transport modes on ESXi vs ESX (because of lack of service console), and changing the mode on the existing job is not supported.
Yes, plenty and there are a few dozens of topic about this, so if you want to learn more - kindly please search the forum.fpmarias wrote:Is there any difference using replication when you have ESXi instead of ESX hosts?

Sorry and thanks a lot for your time Gostev !!
May I ask you a last question? If I have to create new jobs will they be able to resume the replicas created before or will those replicas have to be different and created from the scratch?
Best regards

Yes, this essentially means starting from scratch. Thanks.
