Backup failed after upgrading from 16.10 to 18.04

I have a Lubuntu 16.10 guest which has just been upgraded to 18.04. I have just tried to run my Veeam Agent backup job, but it failed with the message: "failed to perform backup...unable to decrypt password". Any idea why this job should fail after an OS upgrade?
