move phycial physical between groups

Post by jranchuk »

can you move physical machine between protection groups? when I try to remove from group I get this error

cannot be removed, because it is used as the source for one or more backup jobs.

Hello jranchuk,

Are you referring to Manually added protection group? Thank you!

Further to this - I believe.

I need some separate Protection Groups to reflect geographical server distribution. However, if I add a server to one Location Protection Group (say, Site A) it is also included in the "manually added" Protection Group - which has a different location associated with it. Thus the server has two, conflicting locations. These are reported on every job. A particular bugbear with Tape jobs.

Can I remove a server from the Manually Added Group WITHOUT removing it from the Site A Group?
