Problem with mounting disk for restore

Post by toreml »

Hi.

I'm trying to restore some files from a large disk (3,2 TB).
There are four disk on the server - and three of them mounts fine - but the last one which have the data I need is not mounted.
I get the following error:
12.09.2019 14:44:18 Warning Failed to mount volume C:\VeeamFLR\wsdocs01_45cb1779\Volume4 Error: Failed to call RPC function 'FcCheckFilesystemIsAccessible': The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Is there anything I can try - to be able to mount this disk file?
Would it be better if I try to mount the vmdk file on another server and see if I can access it from there?
Will Veeam mount the vmdk file directly from the backup storage - or will we need the same size available as the size of the vmdk file - to mount it on another server?

Do you try to restore guest files from a windows system? If so than please try the "linux and other" option.
Regarding your last question, Veeam will only mount the VMDK from the backup file; so no additional storage is needed.

Hello Tore,

Can you please clarify if you are performing file level recovery via Veeam Agent for Windows or via Veeam B&R console? Thanks!

Hi !

Did you solve this issue as i'm having the exact same problem.
It was working fine, but I get this error message since a couple week.

Nevermind about my issue !
It was the 1st thing I should have checked ... not enough space on the disk hosting VeeamFLR (C:\)
