Veeam changing tape for one backup job

Post by Artur »

Hi,
Since yesterday I have the following problem with tape backup. Several backups are made during the night. One and the same backup is saved on a new tape, although there is still space on the previous tape. The size of this backup is about 4 GB. After this backup job, the next jobs are saved to the previous tape. Why does the tape change only to one backup ??

Can you please clarify your setup? What type of jobs and media pools are you using, how retention and media set creation option is configured?

That is possible only if the fist tape was expired and the last one is a part of the closed media set. Cheers!

Retention is ok.

The tapes were empty. So each had 1.4TB of free space.

Can you please check how media set creation option is configured under Media Pool properties? Any chance you use separate media pools for full and incremental backups? Thank you!
