Scale-out repository

Post by kevin1979 »

I have a scale-out repository with 2 local repositories and one Azure blob repository in it. I have VEEAM proxies in 2 different geographic regions (China and Australia). If I create backup jobs for servers at both sites (one for each location) but use the same scale-out repository, do the backups write to both local repositories? How do I "force" it to only write to the local repository?

If you want to force job to a particular repository, why you're using SOBR, then? Think two separate repositories would work much better. Thanks!

I want backups from both sites copied to the Azure blob storage but want it to use the local proxy and repository to store it initially.

Then:

* Assign jobs to their local proxies
* Add affinity rules to SOBR extents, so that, only local proxies can write to them

Thanks!

Why not use two SOBRs, putting each local repo into its own SOBR? Even with Enterprise Edition licensing you can configure two SOBRs.

So, either upgrade to Enterprise Plus or use the approach mentioned above. These seem to be the only options. Thanks!
