View backup evacuation progress with over 100+ backups

Post by EdgarRicharte »

Is there anyway to override this feature? I would love to see percentages for the individual backups like you see if there was less than 100 backups.

Thank you.

Hello,
do you have a screenshot what percentages you mean? I just evacutated a SOBR with one backup and I don't see percentages for the files. Just number of files. I currently don't have a SOBR with 100 backups to test your scenario

Or do you mean the last line in my screenshot, which is at 100% already?

Best regards,
Hannes

VBR deliberately hides the per-file status of evacuations when the number of files is over 100.
That's what he's referring to. It's kind of weird and arbitrary.

That percentage is what I want to be able to see. I believe you can have multiple backups evacuating based on the number of concurrent tasks you have set for each extent.

This is correct. Don't think resources would be an issue. Since I could just throw more cores at it if I wanted.

You can change this threshold, using this regkey:

Code: Select all

SobrEvacuatePerStorageLogThreshold <DWORD> #100 (default)
Be aware that this change has been done as a part of UI optimization process, and increasing default value might affect backup server UI performance.

Thanks!

I create this key under "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication"? With decimal value set to whatever number I want? In this case I just wanted to up it to 200.

Nvm. That is exactly where to create it. Worked like a charm. TYVM!

Correct, by default a regkey should be created in the mentioned hive (unless stated otherwise - quite rarely, to be honest). And yes, you should add there whatever number you want to - 200 in your case. Thanks!
