vCenter 6.7 backup options

Post by stewsie »

I am starting to plan the migration of vCenter from a Windows server to the VMware appliance. I am planning on deploying 6.7 Update 3 and will of course update Veeam B&R to 9.5 U4b first.

My question is regarding the backup of the appliance. Can I use Veeam to take a backup or should I use the native backup application supplied with the appliance?

Thanks

Hi Paul!

- You can backup VCSA using native VCSA backup option and follow VMware official guide for restore procedure, or
- You can backup VCSA using Veeam and follow backup\restore procedure documented here: https://www.veeam.com/kb2328

It's your choice!

Hi Paul, are you going to use the native migration assistant to avoid VMs ID change?
