Win 2016 w REFS as a repository & space used oddity
We spun up a VM running Win2016 server with an "E" drive sized at 500 GB using REFS.
Pointed Veeam at that host / drive as a repository. It was used for a few miscellaneous things but nothing huge.
Today I happened to look at the the backup infrastrucute -> repositories and that VM shows capacity at 499.8 GB (which is reasonably close to the 500 GB), Free at 496.5 GB and "Used Space" at 633.3 GB.
I'm very puzzled about how Veeam is getting that 633.3 GB when there is hardly anything on that "E" drive (as reported by TreeSize).
Has anyone else seen anything like this?

If you open the E: drive on the server it is attached to in Explorer and 'select all' to select all of the folders in the root of the drive... then right-click properties and see what size is reported.

That reports 252 MB (which agrees with what Treesize reported).

BTW - this is with Veeam 9.5 Update 4a. We are scheduled to update to 9.5 4b on Thursday (10/17).

Have you tried right clicking that repo and rescanning it?

Could be in case blocks have been massively cloned, however, not sure if it is the case - you say it is a new volume?

According to Veeam Console -> Backups -> Disk, Disk (Copy) and Disk (Imported) there isn't anything stored on that repository.
It was used as a Repository for replica metadata for one Replication job that is run manually.

Let's ask our engineers for a closer look at what's happening.
