Backup Failing - The specified network name is no longer available
I have an error Error: The specified network name is no longer available. --tr:Error code: 0x00000040 --tr:FC: Failed to check whether file or folder '\195.192.34.74\Main_Backup\XXXXXX02_Veeam\XXXXXX02' exists. --tr:Failed to call DoRpc. CmdName: [FcIsExists]. The specified network name is no longer available.
I am not really sure how to trouble shoot this, the backup destination is a NAS, I can browse the NAS without issue and other servers are using windows backup to it without issue (different directories) - all machines on the same domain.
Case ID: 03821944.

Re: Backup Failing - The specified network name is no longer available
Hello and welcome to the community forums SugarGliders,
Can you please clarify how the mentioned files share has been added to the backup job (by IP address or by host name)? Did you set any access credentials? Thank you!

Thanks for the welcome
I have tried using the DNS/Host name and the I.P address.
Have tried setting credentials and have tried without, unfortunately it hasn't made a difference.

Hello,
Please make sure you have two backslashes at the beginning of the path to the NAS and note the format for credentials that is DOMAINNAME\Username. If still no luck, I'd suggest waiting for a response from our support engineers.
Thanks

Sorry it must not have pasted correctly - there is two back slashes.

Re: Backup Failing - The specified network name is no longer available
Hello!
Most common possible reasons of this error are listed in this article which describes an identical issue which can happen during backups to NAS performed in Veeam Backup & Replication.
You may take a look and check all of them.
Anyway, I believe our support team could help with additional troubleshooting such as network traffic dump collection and logs analysis.
Thanks!
