Explorer for Microsoft Active Directory missing CN=Builtin
Completed my first backup of a Windows 2012R2 Domain Controller with Application-aware image processing on.
Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Active Directory shows all OUs, except CN=Builtin (which has 27 security groups within).
I know these are special security groups, but how does one back them up if Veeam B&R doesn't back them up ?
Probably no need to backup CN=Users,CN=Builtin, but I created a Backup Operators group within Builtin.
How can I back this group up if Builtin is not seen by Veeam B&R ?

Re: Explorer for Microsoft Active Directory missing CN=Built
The group is backed up because we do an image-level backup (which backs up everything at all), VEAD simply filters special containers out from view.

[MERGED] Restore AD "Bulitin"
Hello
We started to backup one from our domain controller and now we try to restore or compare some AD objects. All looks to be OK, but we are not able to see OU „Bultin“ and its objects in AD explorer. Are we doing something wrong?
Thanks
Regards
Jabe

Hello,
yes, I did not notice this post. VEAD simply filters special containers out from view. OK, does it mean that it is not possible to restore or compare individual objects from this container?
Regards
Jabe

Hi,
You may use that workaround to see these objects, but it is not officially supported, especially in terms of the impact of restore operations. Consider using it at your own risk.
Regards,
Fedor

Hi Fedor,
thanks for your reply, it explains all I need. I hope I will never need to use it in the production environment.
Thanks
