Replication very slow

Post by synergy »

CASE ID: 03859832

HI, HAVING AN ISSUE WITH ONE OF OUR REPLICATION. THE REPLICATION IS FROM OF OUR FILE SHARE SERVER OF 3 TB THERES 2 PROBLEME,

1- IF THERES ALREADY A REPLICA IN VSPHERE: SERVER_REPLICA, THEN IT TAKE I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY DAYS TO END UP FAILING. LINK: HTTPS://DRIVE.GOOGLE.COM/OPEN?ID=1VW5LT ... BNX_7VYZPV

2- IF I DELETE THE _REPLICA FIRST AND THEN START A NEW REPLICA, THEN THE JOB IS RUNNING AT 50KB/S 5 HOURS FOR 1 GB LINK: HTTPS://DRIVE.GOOGLE.COM/OPEN?ID=15INXG ... XVHK0_X107

PLEASE NOTE THAT AS WE SPEAK I HAVE MY SERVERS AT THE SAME SITE TO WORK ON THE REPLICA. SO SPEED SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM BUT IT'S STILL IS.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANK YOU.

What is reported in the job session as the main bottleneck? Aren't there any network throttling rules specified by any chance? Thanks!

Hi,

i just verified and there are no Throttling rules however i may have found something with the backup Proxie. It is set to Automatic and i think the system is getting confused with the old backup Proxi. I will try again tonight.

It does make sense to explicitly set a proxy server (that you're sure does not have any performance problems) and see whether it makes any difference. Anyway, let us know about the results of your findings. Thanks!

Well, same problem, replication was at 1% completed and it started yesterday 10PM. So 1% in 10 hours... Backup is hanging when replication is running so backup didn't start neither. I'm kinda new with Veeam so still trying to figure out everything. Any help would be great. I've open a case with Veeam teachnical support as well yesterday

Again, it might be interesting to know what is reported as main bottleneck here (check replication job session for that information)? Anyway, the support engineers will shed some light on the root cause of degraded performance. Thanks!
