SQL Server transaction incrementals (linux)
Is there a way to do this? I am considering running SQL Server 2019 on Linux, rather than Windows. We don't use SSRS, so we don't really lose anything. I tried to set up a backup job for the CentOS 7 VM with the transaction log incremental at 15 minutes and ran the full job, and the incremental job just sat there at "waiting for backup with SQL Server" or some such message.

No, currently SQL Server on Linux is not supported for this functionality.

Any plans for this in the future?

Sure, that's a possibility. But currently, market share is just too tiny to justify the development and maintenance. Also, Microsoft has been quick in dropping new technologies lately... so after getting burned on things like Hyper-V Nano server, we no longer like to be on the bleeding edge of new Microsoft technologies support
