Failed to create VM snapshot

Hello, since yesterday im getting this error messages from one of my VMs, how can i fix it? ESXi 6.5

There are many reasons a VM snapshot call to vSphere will fail and not be executed on the virtual infrastructure. You are best to open a Veeam support case to diagnose. I take it the job has failed as well?

Yes, its failed. I cant create the backup.

Fixed it.

My problem was in PCI/PCIe device passthrough in VM's hardware settings.

Official VMware note:
"Note: Some virtual machine operations are unavailable when PCI/PCIe passthrough devices are present. You cannot suspend, migrate with vMotion, or take or restore snapshots of such virtual machines."

Hello, I have the same problem and can't backup a VM that have hardware PCI/PCIe device passthrough, but i need to have it working (it's pci-e to serial card)

How can i backup this VM?

Hi Numerounosrl,

This is not currently possible with our VM backup as this is purely a VMware limitation. However, you may use Veeam Agent for backing up these VMs.
