Installation issues - Same server as B&R

Post by ChillyHellion »

Hello, I'm attempting to install Veeam One 9.5.4 on the same virtualized server that hosts my Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 update 4 installation.

I'm running into an issue during the install process. The error occurs at the step "SQL Server Instance - Choose SQL Server instance to create Veeam ONE database on".

I attempt to use the existing SQL server instance (<server>\VEEAMSQL2016) and the default database name "VeeamONE" with Windows Authentication. I receive the error "user does not have required permissions to create a database on server '<server>\VEEAMSQL2016'.

I know I'm missing something simple, but has anyone experienced this error before?

Thank you,
Shestakov

This resolved the issue, thank you. I had to manually download and install SQL Server Management Studio 2016, add my Veeam network service management account to the default instance (created by B&R) and then assign the "dbcreator" and "public" server roles to this account. Thank you for your help!
