Backup strategy

Post by mgd5 »

Hi,

im thinking of store backups on a temporary storage server with reasonable fast disk for a shorter period.
after that i want to move backups to our primary backuptarget Data Domain.

Is there anyone outthere who has a similar configuration? Reason is to store less backups on primary and have faster restore times.

Pro/cons? how would would i go ahed and configure veeam for this?

Regards

Hello,
what you are talking about is the Veeam reference architecture - that's the way to go :-)

1) backup to fast storage (well, everything except inline deduplication appliances) for fast restore
2) copy to cheaper / slower storage

To configure, please use the backup copy job
