Connecting ESX Host to vCenter

Post by BackupTest90 »

Hey Guys,
I hope you feeling well.

I have a task and don't know, how can I solve them.

We have two ESX Hosts that are not connected in our vCenter Infrastructure because the ESX Version is to old and the vCenter is to new. These are stand alone hosts. From this host we do every evening a backup, Full + incremental backup job.

Now, we would like to replace these server and will them connect to the vCenter Infrastructure.

That means that the host and the VMs gets a new REF-ID after connecting to the vCenter and Veeam produce a new full backup. That annoys, we don't the time and storagespace to hold two "backup-chains".

Is there any way, to map these VMs to the target, that they create a incremental instead a full backup?
Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help.

The support team can help you to edit the database even without any tools.
Please don't try to do it on your own. Thanks!
