Error creating snapshot after abend of backup process

Post by rolfmeyer »

Hello

I killed a backup process during snapshot creation (the backup target was not ready). And now I cannot start a new backup and get this messages:

lpbcore| ERR |Resource deadlock avoided
[06.02.2020 13:47:41] <140595227825920> lpbcore| >> |Failed to execute IOCTL_SNAPSHOT_CREATE.

proxystub::CSnapshotOperationStub].

I opened a support case ( #03990349 ).

The environment is VAL 3.02 free edition on SLES11 SP4. The hardware is a IBM/Lenovo 3200M3 with USB drives as backup target.

I tried reinstalling VAL without success (same error). What can I do further. Actually I cannot reboot the server, maybe at weekend.

Thanks for every advice.

Hello

I had a maintenance window this weekend and restarted the server. After that my backup worked again.

I think, there was something strange in the system due to the snapshot abend.

Hi,

Kindly keep working with our support team so they can investigate why the job had failed before you rebooted.

Thanks!
